Cougar Peak #365
4.75" x 6.75" Acrylic on Illustration Board
It is done.....WOW! Last year at this time I was sitting in the studio contemplating on how I should celebrate the new year......and it evolved into this crazy idea of painting Cougar Peak everyday for one year. Coming from a background in animation, I decided to paint the exact same scene, with the idea being that at the end of the year I could animate it all together and watch the seasons come and go in a cool little movie...which will be coming soon.
This project has been an immense joy, and an experience that I shall ever remember. Also it has been a challenge, so much that at times I wasn't sure I had it in me to endure until the end.....but for those of you who have followed along on the journey, your comments and support have made it possible and all the more worth while. Thank you!
And as before here is the month in review, as well as the year in review.

Yay!!!! You did it!! What a marvelous accomplishment, Jared. I hope there's lots of champagne in your future tonight!
Thanks Laureline!!!.....I'm glad I was able to share part of my journey with you. Yes indeed, more than one reason to celebrate. Happy New Year!
Congratulations! I have really enjoyed watching the transformation of this mountain over the course of the year, and I think you are awesome for having the dedication to do it.
I was hoping that you would animate it at the end, I look forward to seeing that, too.
Have a great new year and I hope you take a (little) rest before you start on your next big adventure!
Thanks Carol....I'm glad you were able to tag along for the journey. Yes, it is time for a little break, but hopefully 2008 will have some fun things in store.
An animated year worth of views, what a fantastic idea.
I'll miss my daily view through your window. I should buy 365 sheets of printer paper and make myself a never-ending calender.
Thanks Yellow!.....glad you could tag along for the journey. I'm working on maybe getting a coffee table book printed up......I keep you updated.
Congratulations on making it through! I have enjoyed watching what you have done each day.
Thanks Orange!!!....I've enjoyed all of your comments throughout the year, glad you could share a year at the mountain with me.
Congratulations! What a wonderful work of art. Great how so many are really one!
I look forward to the video, I had no idea that was coming.
Fantastic Jared. Sometime I will find the time to go through them all again...and presuming this will be here to peruse for awhile to come. Best for new endevours in the new year.
Thanks Walter and Clive!....Glad to have you guys stop by. Also yes, the project will stay up for as long as they let me.
Awesome
Thanks Daniel!!
amazing work. I can't believe you stuck with it for the whole year. You will never look at those mountains the same again :) Can't wait for the movie!
Thanks Cat!.....glad you could share in the process with me throughout the year. Even at times now, the mountain still beckons me to come and paint it.
If Cezanne was alive today, this would be his favorite blog.
Thanks Eric!!....That would be extremely cool to have Cezanne stop by and leave comments. What would be even cooler though would be to check out his blog.
Wow this is such a cool concept. I love it.
Thanks Austin!!...appreciate it.
WOOOOOWAAAHHHH! AMAZING STUFFS HERE BRO AND IN THE OTHER LINKS AS WELL!

i visited this blog nearly a year ago, maybe more, n loved what u're doig. left a comment then too :)couldnt find u again for a time.
anyway, i'm getting a strange sense of satisfaction seeing the completed form, thoughi'm seeing it a little late. congratlations, belatedly i think this truly is an amazing thing u've done.
This is cool, like Monet's giant outdoor muffins.
I was always surprised the villagers didn't show up and eat them.
Thank you M. Irani
Thanks Gloworm!....glad you were able to make it back and see the project in it's completion.
Thanks Steve!.....such a great series that Monet did.
That would make a great painting where people(taking the place of cows) are standing around a giant muffin eating away.
Let me extend 365 kudos and congratulations to you. I hope that my being nearly a year late on this doesn't diminish it. My brain lives in a strange dimension possessed of disorderly time.
Thanks Tomm!.....and no those 365 kudos still pack the same punch, whether they be a year late or no.
That's some project - well done!
Did you produce the animation?
great! would be nice to see them published in a book
